Our Family

(At Thomas and Claire's wedding I used the following poem to introduce our family to Claire's wedding guests.)

It all began with the missus and me
Then along came Enda to make it three.

Gerald soon made the total four
Followed by Mary, Brendan and more,

For Oonagh, John and Jane had come through the gate
Before Thomas weighed in as our number eight.

And in seventy three, I'm pleased to tell
Our Christmas present, Anne Noelle.

Peter and Paul each arrived in the Fall
To make it a baker's dozen in all.

Michael, Nuala and Nigel joined the crew
Angela, Alyson and Rebecca too.

And another dozen has since come along
A treasured gift each and every one.

So Thomas and Claire, something not to miss,
It all began on a day like this.

(A lot has happened since 2003 as the photographs below will show, and I may get round to completing the poem one of these days, but for now I will leave you to figure it all out for yourselves.)
